Subway® Shift Supervisor
A SUBWAY® Shift supervisor greets and serves guests, prepares food, maintains food safety and sanitation standards, and handles or processes light paperwork. Exceptional customer service is a major component of this position. A SUBWAY® Shift Supervisor is in charge of providing direct supervision to employees at shift-based companies to ensure the business operates correctly. Their duties include covering for employee absences, managing cash drops from the register, ensuring hygiene standards are met and resolving problems that occur during their shift.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
Customer Services
Friendly, prompt and efficient customer service
Process text and fax orders in an efficient and timely manner
Prepare all orders as per SUBWAY® store procedures
Process all Point of Sale transactions in an accurate and timely manner
Respond to customer enquiries
Deal with difficult and irate customers
Provide information on products
Up-sell on Promotions and Specials
Training of new Sandwich Artist™ as required
Store Merchandising
Receive deliveries and check in stock
Daily bread counts
Food preparation including bread and cookie baking
Complete weekly and monthly stock takes
Ensure stock control is maintained and rotated
Food Safety
Comply with Food Code of Practice
Ensure food is prepared and stored and preparation areas are maintained according to Health & Safety and Audit standards
Carry out temperature checks and record as per company process
Complete daily and weekly cleaning schedules as per cleaning chart
Security & Loss Prevention
Take precautions to prevent theft of, and damage to, the stock or store
Follow company security procedures and secure cash and stock from loss or theft
Monitor and report any suspicious activities
Document all equipment malfunctions and follow-up action
Cashier Operations
Count end of shift monies
Complete administration accurately
Occupational Health & Safety
Follow safety procedures to prevent injury
Provide a safe work environment for employees and customers
Personal Qualities
Maintain high personal presentation in the provided uniform to meet SUBWAY® and customer expectations
Work as a team member
Complete training courses as directed by the Subway Manager
Key Challenges
Ensure customers are served in an efficient and friendly manner
Maintain high personal standards in both presentation and work habits
