John Bull Ltd is looking for an Commissary Hot Cook to join our team in Nassau, Bahamas at our Commissary in Palmdale.

The ideal candidate is results-driven, hard worker, attention to detail, is observant, and enjoys the kitchen production environment.

POSITION SUMMARY: The Culinary Cook's responsibilities include preparing quality Culinary items such as breakfast items, savory foods, meat handling & prep, baking, basic cooking and any other items that may fall under the portfolio of the Culinary area. These items are to be produced for mass production were consistency, speed, accuracy and time management are essential.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment; use equipment and tools only as intended, properly and safely.                                                           
  • Maintain and strictly abide by government sanitation/health regulations and business requirements.
  • Meet with the Chef-in-charge to review assignments, anticipated business levels, changes and other information pertinent to the job performance.
  • Complete opening duties                        
  • Inspect the cleanliness and working conditions of all tools, equipment and supplies
  • Check production schedule and par
  • Establish priority items for the day
  • Inform the Chef-in-Charge of any supplies that need to be requisitioned.
  • Prepare all menu items following recipes and yield guides, according to departmental standards
  • Inform the Chef-in-Charge of any foreseeable shortages before items run out
  • Maintain proper storage procedures as specified by Health Department and Company requirements.
  • Minimize waste and maintain controls to attain forecasted food cost

Qualifications:                                                                                                                                                                    

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty to a

satisfactory standard.

                                                                                                                                                                                                    

Education: High School diploma or equivalent vocational training certificate; certification of

culinary training or apprenticeship preferred.

 

License/Certification: Food handler’s certificate

 

Experience: Should have a minimum of 1-2 years of experience as Culinary Cook in hotels with similar

style and standards.
